What is a Gundog
Gun dogs or bird dogs as some people call them, are types of dogs developed to assisthunters in finding and retrieving game, usually birds. Gun dogs are divided into three primarytypes: Retrievers, flushing dogs, and pointing breeds. Some kennel clubs define a GundogGroup for gundogs, while other kennel clubs include them in the Sporting Group. The three most popular types are: Spaniel, Golden Retriever and Labrador.
The Basics
It is essential that your dog has all the basic commands before we can turn them into a gun dog. From the age of 14 weeks we should be teaching our dogs to sit, wait, fetch and recall.
Once they hit the age of 6 months to 8 months then that is the time to start the real work. hats where I come in with my training.
What we offer
We now offer your dog a two week package or a four week package. We offer boarding with us for those weeks and can do all the basic training at our Kennels in GreatBrington, Northampton.
We also still offer the one to one training with you and your dog on a day basis or a four day course. Coming soon in 2012 new Gundog training Ground (Watch out on this site for further details)
